RCO understands that energy efficiency is a key factor in the fight against the CO2 emissions that contribute to global warming; we also believe that we have a responsibility to help clean up the U.S., which remains the world's largest polluter.

Energy efficiency is already working - and making a difference. Energy efficiency offers significant economic benefits because it reduces costs and generates cash flow. And, as the Post-Petroleum Era dawns, it is increasingly seen as one of the least expensive, most effective and immediately adoptable action items for dealing with the environmental challenges we face.

For so long, energy-efficiency programs have been held in check by the geographic restrictions of U.S. utilities; RCO transcends these boundaries and, in a sense, de-regulates energy efficiency by implementing projects in the most carbon-intensive cities, counties and communities all across America.

Energy-efficiency-backed carbon offsets are reliable. Verification protocols for energy efficiency projects have a long and distinguished history. These protocols have been vetted by both academics and the energy efficiency industry. RCO works with the nation's best verification firms to ensure that all projects deliver the requisite savings.

RCO energy efficiency projects are transparent and verifiable. Using established energy efficiency standards as a baseline in the emerging offset industry, where measurement and project confirmation are difficult at best, creates a ready-made verification process.
