About RCO

RCO is working solely in the U.S. energy efficiency arena, which has a long history of measurement and verification protocols backed by decades of academic research.

Carbon offsets delivered through RCO energy efficiency projects, begin to accrue immediately and are sustained throughout the project lifecycle. RCO establishes projects in carbon intensive areas that would not otherwise have energy efficiency programs available.

RCO also understands that investing in energy-efficiency projects with hard savings (i.e. implementing equipment changes that are unlikely to be "undone" by the business owners) is the key to offset persistence. For this reason, we do not take credit for CFL replacements, since they can be easily replaced and their impact on savings has historically been hard to track.
